PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCEM

  • 1995 – Present CDCA (The Commission on Dental Competency Assessments) formally known as NERB(North East Regional Board) Examiner. This exam is required to practice dentistry.
  • 1984-Present Opened solo private practice in Brockton, MA, that has expanded into a multi-specialty practice employing seven additional pediatric dentists, one endodontist, one general dentist, plus seven assistants and administrative staff.
  • 1986-2008 Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, Assistant Clinical Professor in Pediatric Dentistry.
  • 1982-1986 Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, Clinical Instructor in Pediatric Dentistry.

  • 2014 Mini MBA for Dentist. Bentley University. This was the first year this program was offered by Bentley University and Mass Dental Society.
  • 2010 Awarded Certificate of Appreciation by American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and Massachusetts Head Start Association in recognition of efforts to promote access to dental care services for Head Start and Early Head Start children.
  • 2003 Nominated “Woman of the Year”, in India New England (local newspaper).
  • 2002 Elected to Steering Committee of North East Regional Board of Dental Examiners.
  • 2002 Chairperson of the Board of Trustees, IMANE (Indian Medical Association of New England).
  • 2001 Served on the Commission on Dental Accreditation, American Dental Association, as a State Board Member at Tufts University, School of Dental Medicine.
  • 2000 Unanimously nominated as Chairperson of the Board of Registration in Dentistry for the Millennium Year.
  • 1999 Re-appointed by MA Governor Cellucci as a Member of the Board of Registration in Dentistry for second five-year term.

  • 1996 Chairperson, Reception Committee, AAPI (American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin), Boston. AAPI represents nationally all Indian medical professionals.
  • 1995 – Present Examiner for the North East Regional Board of Dental Examiners, which licenses 15 North East States.
  • 1995 City of Brockton Mayor Farwell proclaimed June 25, 1995 as Dr. Rashmi J. Shah Day to honor community and professional achievements.
  • 1994 Appointed by MA Governor Weld as a Member of the Board of Registration in Dentistry for five-year term.
  • 1993-1997 Served in various roles for IMANE: Executive Committee Member, Treasurer and Co-chair of Social and Cultural Committee; participated in multiple local Health Fairs.
  • 1984-Present Frequently host pre-school and elementary age children from local day care centers. Goal is to familiarize them with the looks and sounds of a dentist’s office, show them that the visit can be pleasant and therefore minimize the trauma often experienced when first visits are due to an emergency.
  • 1982 Scored 100% at North East Regional Board Examination in Restorative Dentistry.
  • 1981 Member of Class Committee, Tufts University.
  • 1973-1977 Organized several multi-day Free Dental Camps and Health Fairs in India with local Rotary, Lions and Jaycees Clubs, performing 100 extractions per day.
  • 1972-1975 Founding Member and Co-President of Cultural Association at Government Dental College, Bombay, India.
